Experience The Atlas Correction.

The Atlas/C1 vertebra is a part of the most complex joint in the spine. It is the most vital area considering its influence on our brain health and also the health of the entire body. The Atlas is a freely moveable joint, meaning a person's spine can displace into an estimated 40,000 different direction combinations. The Atlas requires a higher level of precision and specificity to correct it back to its normal, in a position that will last. Twisting, cracking, massaging, and traction will not reposition the Atlas Displacement. It requires a specific force reversed along the original pathway determined from specialized imaging. Every person's Atlas is as unique as their fingerprint.

Signs that you have an Atlas Displacement:

  • One leg is shorter than the other, a hip is higher on one side or twisted.

  • Your head and neck do not visually sit straight.

  • Your low back does not lay flat against the surface when on your back.

  • When taking a deep breath the last 1/3rd of the breath is more difficult than a shallow breath.

The above are all common ABNORMAL findings when someone has an Atlas Displacement. However, the only way to know for sure is to have an examination by a NUCCA chiropractor.

Precision

Our procedure The Atlas Correction is based on a scientific protocol called NUCCA. We use very specific specialized imaging to guide the correction made to the head and spine. There is no guess work in our process, everything is measured down to a fraction of a degree. Additionally, we take x-rays after your Atlas Correction to be confident the correction is complete.

Painless and Safe

Our goal for your care is to hold the correction for as long as possible to minimize pain and to maximize function. In order for the correction to hold for long periods of time it must be specific. Being specific means absolutely no vigorous twisting or cracking of the spine. The spine is placed safely in a neutral position and the correction is made where the C1 vertebrae is at the base of the skull.

Effective

90% of our patient’s are feeling better within the first month following The Atlas Correction. The initial stabilization period takes 28 days and the person may experience some retracing symptoms, which is a normal part of the healing process. The longer The Atlas Correction is maintained the deeper the healing process will go, correcting deeper chronic issues.
